OneCMS Header Bidding

Are You Using Google Ad Manager to Traffic Your Ads?

Are you ready to MAXIMIZE REVENUE from your UNSOLD inventory?

Each time a user visits your web page, your ads generate an impression immediately. This moment is gold for you because it just made you real cash. Or did it?

How many of your ad impressions are not making the most revenue possible because you didn’t sell them? Are those remnant impressions serving a House ad, low revenue ad, or a giveaway?

Ideally, you would want to monetize every impression, and this is why Header bidding has changed the way broadcasters (and most publishers) manage their digital inventory.

What is Header Bidding?

In its most simple definition, Header bidding is the process where multiple advertisers participate simultaneously in a digital auction to win ad space on your website.

This auction occurs on every page load, as well as any time an ad unit refreshes. The process is streamlined through programmatic advertising, making it more effective and efficient.

What Does that mean for me?

By using OneCMS Header Bidding to maximize the revenue from your unsold inventory, you’ll have multiple advertisers bidding on an instantaneous online auction to display their ads on your website each time someone visits your website!

Header bidding gives more advertisers the chance to place the winning bid for ad spaces on your site, which means you take home the highest revenue possible for each ad impression.

Terms Refresher

Unsold Inventory

Unsold or "Remnant" inventory refers to any ad units that have not been purchased by an advertiser.

Programmatic Ads

Programmatic advertising is the process of automatically buying and selling digital advertising space.

Line Item

How an advertisement is defined in Ad Manager. What creative will serve, what priority it has, where it will serve, how many impressions it has for a goal, etc.

How Does Header Bidding Work?

Let’s walk through how a typical Advertisement displays on your website using Header Bidding (all within a fraction of a second!):

Your website Calls for an Ad

A member of your audience visits your website, and each of your ad units makes a call to Ad Manager for a display banner to serve.Step 1

Ad Manager prioritizes what Ads to Serve

Ad Manager looks at your open line items. Any of your guaranteed line items (direct-sold advertisements from your sales team) will have the highest priority to serve.Step 2

If no Guaranteed Line Items, Header Bidding takes over

If there are no guaranteed line items to serve (because they are meeting their impression  or percentage goals, or you just haven't sold the spot), then header bidding begins an instant online auction for advertisers to bid on the impression.Step 3

The highest Bidder serves an Ad on your website

Multiple Advertisers through multiple Ad Networks bid to display on your website. The advertiser who wins the auction displays on your website!Step 4

Pretty straightforward, right? Wouldn’t it be cool to have advertisers fighting over ad space that you were making little to nothing on?

Header Bidding FAQs

Will this affect my Direct Sold Ads?

No! The relationship you have with your advertisers is paramount! Header Bidding won’t interfere with the Ads that have been promised and paid for (Guaranteed!)

Is this going to slow down my website?

No, our header bidding implementation ads only one line of javascript to your website.  All the auction and bidding takes place offsite.

Are you going to show competitor ads?

No! All broadcast competitors are automatically blocked from displaying on your website (streaming providers, online music, etc.).  Additionally, we block your in-market competitors as well (other stations)

I've already got AdSense, why should I use Header Bidding?

AdSense is another excellent way to make the most of your unsold inventory, and OneCMS Header Bidding works right alongside AdSense!
Header Bidding will include AdSense in the auction. If AdSense has a higher bid than the advertising partners bidding, then AdSense will serve. Either way, you’ll ALWAYS get the highest paying ad to display

Are you going to serve crappy Ads?

No, InterTech and our partners work with all the major media buyers, agencies, trading desks, and demand sources in the industry to attract quality advertisers.  We also implement a floor bid amount so only high-paying, reputable advertisers can participate.

I don't want this specific ad on my website

Hey, we understand there may be a time an ad you don’t want shows up on your website. In the rare instance that happens, give us the URL of the ad destination, and we’ll have it blocked from your website.
